I was raised in Oak Park, Illinois, and for a long time I thought I’d become a journalist. Life, however, had other plans—and I’m so glad it did. Today, I’m a women’s fiction novelist, and I love bringing characters to life as they navigate real struggles, discover love, and uncover the beauty tucked inside everyday moments.
Along the way, I’ve been fortunate to see my work featured on Fox, NBC, CBS, USA Today, and more. My novels Someone Like Me and The Caged Butterfly both won the USA Best Book Fiction Award and went on to hit #1 Amazon Bestseller status in their categories. I’ve also been honored with the AALBC Bestseller Award and the Sankofa Literary Society Award. One of my personal favorites, I Believe In Butterflies, even helped me rank among the top 100 Most Popular Authors in Literary Fiction on Amazon.
These days, I live just outside Atlanta with my husband of over 20 years. When I’m not writing, you’ll probably find me watching Pride and Prejudice for the hundredth time and championing my belief that popcorn should definitely count as a vegetable.
